23/11/2020 The first struggle Today as I ran a search with my external Samsung 4TB SSD File Explorer froze and although I encouraged Windows to recover by clicking again on the x and having Windows fire up the fan I ultimately clicked repeatedly knowing that this would force a close, usually; sure enough, both of my File Explorer windows closed. If I had not been concerned with potentially losing data or creating an action and not realising due to the state Windows was in I would have allowed the window to simmer in the background while I carried on with other work. Immediately my thoughts ran to the obvious: I have a Dell 5501 complete with a 10th generation i7, a supposedly blazingly fast and agile built in SSD, 32GB of ram and a modern motherboard and set of peripherals. But I have Windows 10 and that, I am afraid, changes all. You can wear what lavish and liberating underwear you want but one shall still find themself soggy if a wet trenchcoat is placed upon shoulder time and time again. Windows 10 is modern and potentially improving, I grant you. It is though horrendously sluggish and restrains hardware terrifically. If I could get Wine up and running, which I shall again attempt at some point, I could plough through work like never before. Alas I am chained to the mast that is unashamed impotence, spewed out from the mouth that is Windows 10. I always wondered what would happen should Phil Mitchell and Windows 10 make love. Oh now we know. And we can never forget.
